The Catholic Daughters of the Americas donates $60,000 to Habitat Monmouth’s 61st affordable house in Middletown.

Middletown, NJ: On Saturday, June 11, 2022, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County was the recipient of $60,000 in funding from the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA). This generous donation, $50,000 from the State Court of New Jersey Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and $10,000 from the National CDA, will go towards the construction of Habitat’s 61st affordable house on Ideal Ave in Middletown, NJ.

Executive Director, Diane Kinnane, and Director of Development, Felicia Levine, were onsite on Ideal Ave to receive the checks from NJ State Regent, Audrey Spenard, and a number of CDA Members.
Middletown Mayor, Tony Perry, and Business Administrator, Tony Mercantante, were also present. Middletown Township has been an important partner in Habitat Monmouth’s efforts to meet Monmouth County’s affordable housing needs; the township donated the property on Ideal Ave where the single family home will be built. Construction is expected to begin towards the end of Summer 2022.
“We are so fortunate to have the generous support of partners like the Catholic Daughters of the Americas to help us build new opportunities for hard-working, deserving families,” said Diane Kinnane, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity Monmouth.
She added: “We are also grateful for the unwavering support of Mayor Perry, and Tony Mercantante, who have been instrumental in getting this project underway, at a time when affordable housing is increasingly out of reach for so many families in Monmouth County”.
The CDA is a committed supporter of Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing decent, safe and affordable housing for families experiencing economic difficulties.
