Our Mission is Urgent!

December 3, 2025

Dear Friends,

The housing crisis isn’t something happening “somewhere else”. It’s unfolding in our own backyards. Families who have lived in Monmouth County for generations are being priced out. Seniors who helped build our communities are struggling to stay safely in their homes. And teachers, healthcare workers, and first responders, the people who care for us every day, can no longer afford to live in the towns they love.

This is not just a crisis. It’s a call to action.

At Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. Whether we’re building new homes or repairing existing ones, every hammer swing and every nail driven changes lives in our community.

Every home repair and new affordable house tells a story of hope – and each one happens because of people like you.

  • A repaired roof keeps a family dry through the winter.
  • A new ramp gives a veteran back his independence.
  • A new set of windows reminds a senior that she has not been forgotten.

“We were homeless, couch-surfing, after our landlord raised the rent 300% and we could not afford to stay in our rental. We couldn’t believe it when we were selected to be Habitat homeowners. Without this incredible opportunity, we would not have been able to stay in the community we grew up in. Habitat has changed our lives. ” – Erica L, Habitat Homeowner

Neighbors helping neighbors.

When people think about “Habitat for Humanity,” they often think about one big, global organization. But the truth is, every local Habitat, including Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity, is independently operated and funded by our own local community. That means when you give to Monmouth County Habitat, your gift stays right here at home, building and repairing homes for hardworking families, veterans, and seniors across our neighborhoods.

We can’t wait. The need is urgent. This year alone, we have received more than 700 requests for home repairs. Our 84th and 85th houses are under construction. Please help us work towards a community where nobody has to face housing insecurity alone.

Give a tax-deductible gift by December 31, and help us keep our promise of safe, stable homes for our neighbors. Transforming lives, one house, one ramp, one neighborhood at a time.

With gratitude,

Meredith Darche, Executive Director
Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity
