Driving Change: Habitat Monmouth Golf for Homes Outing 2023
Freehold, NJ – August 11, 2023 – Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County (HFHMC) was delighted with the success of its 12th annual “Golf for Homes” outing, held on Monday, August 7, 2023. Held at Beacon Hill Country Club in Atlantic Highlands for the third consecutive year, the event garnered excellent support from the community, drawing close to 60 golfers and additional 20 guests for the dinner reception.
The day kicked off with a buffet lunch that set the stage for the 18-hole golf tournament as golfers showcased their skills and sportsmanship under a sunny sky.
HFHMC was proud to honor Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone at the dinner reception. Director Arnone has consistently championed the cause of affordable housing and community development in Monmouth County, which has made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and families. HFHMC Board President Kim Stulb presented Director Arnone with a customized Habitat hard hat and Certificate of Appreciation. Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger (District 13) (and HFHMC board member) was present to award Director Arnone a Joint Legislative Resolution by Senator O’Scanlon, Assemblyman Scharfenberger, and Assemblywomen Flynn, Piperno, and Eulner, in recognition of Director Arnone’s achievements.
Atlantic Highlands Mayor Loretta Gluckstein and Borough Administrator Robert Ferragina were also in attendance.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Kim Stulb, President of the HFHMC Board, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are truly grateful for the generosity of all those who participated to make the day a success. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to thank Director Tom Arnone, and also to connect with our supporters all while raising much-needed funds for affordable housing programs in our community.”
Funds raised during the event will be instrumental in furthering HFHMC’s mission by supporting the construction of affordable homes and bolstering the nonprofit’s additional programs, including Veterans Build Home Repairs/L.I.F.T., Ramps & Rails, and A Brush with Kindness. These initiatives provide Veterans with home repairs at no cost, and seniors with the opportunity to age comfortably and independently in their homes, fostering a sense of security and belonging.
Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County extends its heartfelt appreciation to all those who played a role in making this event a success, including golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and dedicated golf committee and staff.
Top sponsors for this event included T&M Associates; the William Gross Charitable Foundation; New Jersey Natural Gas; Saker Shoprites; Holmdel PBA and Prodigy Search. Ray Catena Auto Group sponsored the Hole in One competition but there were no winners of the spectacular Porsche Macan that day.
