7th Annual Golf for Homes Event at Battleground Country Club – Recap 2018
On Monday, August 20, 2018 we hosted our 7th annual Golf for Homes event at Battleground Country Club. The event featured an open bar, gift and sports memorabilia auction, raffle prizes and a 50/50.
It was a perfect day for golf with over 25 foursomes on the green! This was one of our most successful outings, raising nearly $44,000 to support our mission to build homes, communities and hope.
Through the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we are able to help families across our community. This year we honored our partner families including our newest partner family, the Etiennes.
A big THANK YOU for Battleground Country Club for hosting us again this year!

Meet the Etienne Family
We are proud to introduce the Etiennes as the newest Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County partner family. The new home construction, located in Long Branch, is one of Habitat’s next projects. The family will work side by side with volunteers and staff to complete their sweat equity. Once the house is completed, the family will receive a low-interest mortgage and the keys to their new home.
Currently, Chrystelle and Wilguens are renting a one bedroom apartment with their newborn son, Willens, and Chrystelle’s grandmother, Rosana. The couple met in school and are working multiple jobs to support their young family. With the arrival of Willens, the family has very limited room in their apartment for three adults and a newborn. Rosana’s “bedroom” is a converted dining room with a curtain. They are grateful for the opportunity to be homeowners and to provide their son the stability of a place to call home and Rosana with a room of her own.
