Development Associate
The Development Associate is responsible for creating and supporting a donor-centric climate for charitable giving that broadens the base of support for and deepens the existing financial support for HFHMC. The Associate will report to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with the Marketing/Event and Grant Writing staff, consultants and lead committee members.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the development of HFHMC’s Development Plan and Annual Campaign in collaboration with the ED and Development Committee, measuring fundraising activities and reporting monthly
- Manage Annual Campaign to solicit and grow donor base
- Implement fundraising strategies for individuals, corporations and foundations
- Increase stewardship with existing donors to maintain strong relationships
- Actively cultivate and solicit new funding opportunities, including Gifts in Kind
- Manage the donor database and interface with the volunteer database
- Pro-actively identify potential new donors and prepare background briefings for prospect visits
- Schedule cultivation/solicitation meetings for the ED, Board Members
- Coordinate and collaborate on donor communications with Marketing staff
- Utilize Habitat family and volunteer stories to keep donor information current and engaging
- Support details of Community and Special Events with Marketing staff and seek sponsors
- Create positive working relationships with volunteers and staff, attending all relevant committee meetings
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree
- 2-3 years fundraising experience
- Established network of donor relationships within HFHMC’s service area
- Experience in data base administration
- Persuasive written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills- comfortable with public speaking Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor database
Employment Status:
Part- time- 20 hrs/week
