We are looking for a service-minded, qualified individual to fill the following opening:
Community Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator
Full-Time, non-exempt; 40 hrs/week
Primary Location: Freehold Office
Reports to: Director of Development
Salary Range: $50,000- $52,000
Under the direction of the Director of Development, the Community Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the volunteer program, along with community outreach efforts to engage and support volunteer activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Volunteer Program Management:
- Respond to all individual volunteer inquiries for Administration, Construction, and ReStore.
- Develop and implement strategies for actively soliciting, engaging, and maintaining new volunteers across all departments.
- Serve as the liaison for external organizations sending volunteers to Administration, Construction, and ReStore.
- Schedule, manage, and attend Corporate Build Days, ensuring smooth coordination of volunteers and activities.
- Coordinate the scheduling and placement of volunteers to meet affiliate needs, including groups and skilled volunteers.
- Maintain the volunteer calendar, ensuring accurate and up-to-date scheduling of all volunteers.
- Work within the CRM to track volunteer information, communicate with volunteers, and ensure data is entered and updated consistently.
- Meet with construction staff regularly to align volunteer scheduling with construction goals.
- Interview and place volunteers in specific roles, including committees, office tasks, ReStore, and special events.
- Develop and implement a formal and informal volunteer appreciation program, ensuring that volunteers feel recognized and valued.
- Regularly monitor volunteer satisfaction through surveys and feedback.
- Ensure all volunteer liability waivers are signed, filed, and maintained properly.
- Community Outreach:
- Actively promote volunteer opportunities within the community to build engagement and expand the volunteer base.
- Work with development staff to maintain and update the volunteer section of the website, including content management as needed.
- Collaborate with development and communications teams to create volunteer-related content for newsletters, e-blasts, and social media.
- Coordinate and engage volunteers for community outreach events, including fundraising activities and special initiatives.
- Serve as an ambassador for Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity, representing the organization at community events and in volunteer interactions.
- Administration & Reporting:
- Maintain a detailed volunteer database, keeping accurate records of volunteer activities, hours worked, team information, and contact details.
- Track and report on volunteer statistics for grant reporting and organizational evaluations.
- Provide service documentation for students and other volunteers as required.
- Assist in the management of AmeriCorps volunteers when needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure it meets the needs of the affiliate.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Women Build Committee and assist with its activities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
